My "Golden" birthday

As you may know my birthday was on the 26th and so a friend informed me that it's my "golden" birthday because I turned 26 on the 26th. Who knew there was such a thing. I celebrated with a couple girls the Saturday before my birthday. We had a nice evening of going out to dinner then heading down toe River Street in downtown Savannah. I love River Street!! It's so much fun! We enjoyed just hanging out down there and as you can see I had some fun with some ice cream. My friend treated me to some really fun blue bubble gum ice cream. I was thrilled until I realized that the humidity was melting my ice cream rediculously fast. I was licking that sucker like there was no tomorrow. Didn't help much. I'm so scared that I will get some of the blue on my white linen skirt I so unwisely chose for the evening. Amazingly enough none got on the skirt and as you can see my tongue didn't get too blue either. All ended up well.:)

The end of the night was relaxing. We took a ferry ride across the river to the Westin convention center. They have a really pretty little garden for anyone to visit with palm trees and other various flowers and plant life. None of my pics of it turned out because it was dark but as soon as I get the other pics I'm hoping I"ll be able to post one. I love the palm trees down here!

Below are Emily, a friend I've made out here and Andrea. A friend from college.

Mike and I enjoyed some mint, oreo, and chocolate ice cream cake from Cold Stone on my actual bd. !!! He also has a small gift for me that he's making me wait for. Such a killer!

The First Englund Family Vacation

Mike took leave right after the 4th so we thought we'd all go to Gatlinburg, TN for some relaxing time away. We rented a cabin in the smoky mountains for the week and went in to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg for some fun and exploring. While we were gone Madison turned 5 mo old.

Since this was Madison's first vacation we wanted to get her a cute souvenir. We found a cute little store called "Wacky Bear" which is just like "Build a Bear". So we were able to let her pick which bear then we added a music button to it, had it stuffed and picked out the cute little clothes. They also had you fill out adoption papers. We are going to frame those and put it in her room. Here's a bunch of fun pics while we were there.

Rice Cereal

About a month ago we let Madison start baby Rice cereal. At first she would make the cutest face letting us know that she clearly did not like it. This pic shows her on the third try. She finally likes it. She likes to try and grab the spoon so it can be a challenge getting it safely to her mouth.

4th of July

I am still working on getting this site up and running but I wanted to post some pictures of the 4th. We went to Ft. Stewart to enjoy some free food, a motorcycle show and some fireworks.

As you can see above Madison loved her first taste of watermelon. Since she doesn't really know how to eat real food yet she just stuck her little tongue out and kept licking it. It was so so cute!

The beginning

Hello friends and family. I am copying my two cousins and starting a blog so that you all can keep up with our lives since we live so far apart and continuously move. We hope you enjoy the pics and posts. I know my mom will be happy to have another way to see her weekly pics of her first grandchild, little Madison. :)We love you all and are so glad for the technology that is helping us keep in touch.
